The Strathmore Bel Pre Civic and Recreation Associations jointly host an annual Fourth of July parade, field day, entertainment, and many years, a picnic.

The Parade usually begins at Strathmore Elementary School and ends at the pool. Paraders range in age from newborns to teenagers, all sporting red, white and blue! Fire trucks and emergency vehicles often lead the parade, along with our community’s Cub Scout Troop 763. Back at the pavilion, entertainment is usually provided by a magician. Children then have a great time at the field games, which wrap up with the popular coin toss in the community’s pool.

For many years, the community hosted a neighborhood picnic, with music. Due to dwindling participation, the last 4th of July Picnic was in 2012. It is our hope that we can revitalize this neighborhood tradition!
