We’re so glad you’re here.
Like us, you may have noticed a few feline faces around SBP! Our efforts started with neighbors noticing cats—and realizing there were far more than we thought. When a few of us started chatting about a cat we saw regularly, we quickly realized she was pregnant. Then after finding out about another litter nearby from last year, and more and more cat sightings, we knew we had to do something.
This is Coco. She’s been fed and offered shelter for about a year, then became pregnant with what we believe is her first litter. Once we realized she had given birth, we began following her to find her nest. We needed a foster solution and reached out via our Civic Listserv for foster offers from neighbors. As it turned out, a neighbor had lots of experience with this and offered to take Coco and her kittens in to offer them shelter, food, necessary medications and security. From there, we formed a WhatsApp group chat and began connecting with other neighbors also caring for cats on their own blocks—one of whom was already taking action through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) along Hewitt Avenue. As the group grew, so did the realization that we could do more by working together.
That’s how SBP-CCC was born: neighbors coming together to keep eyes on our community and create a safe place to communicate, advocate, and care for our community cats.

What We Do

Our members care for community cats, foster, assist with TNR, collaborate with local vets, rescuers, and programs, and help connect neighbors with resources when a cat needs assistance. We’re also creating an SBP “Cat-abase” to help identify neighborhood cats—including pets (indoor-outdoor cats) and stray cats who may have taken residency in our neighborhood.

Spotlight
New Kit’ns on the Block
You may have spotted a few of us searching bushes and backyards this summer for a litter of kittens! Neighbors worked together to find, trap, foster, and care for mama Coco and her 6 kittens that were just days old—we even gave them SBP-inspired names: Beau, Blair, Breezie, Blue, Beret, and Bagheera. Kittens are in foster with an experienced SBP neighbor and will be fully weaned and ready to adopt starting mid-October 2026!
